What is necessary to file a trademark application in Mexico?
- Applicant's name and address
- A clear copy of the trademark (word, design or both)
- Certified Copy of the Priority document (it is possible to claim recognition of priority, if the application is filed before the expiration of 6 months counted from the fist filing in the originating country).
- Power of Attorney
- International class number (if you know it).
- List of services and products to protect.
- If you have already used the mark in Mexico, it is important to know the first date of use.

Trademark is granted for ten years counted from filing date and renewal for 10 additional years.
It is possible to file multiclasses applications in Mexico?
No, it is not possible to file multiclasses applications in Mexico. One application per class must be filed.
What is a date of first use?
It corresponds to a certain proved date when the trademark was used in national territory or abroad. It is a strong benefit in case that a previous mark be cited in the examination process.
How many classes contemplate the international classification?
In total are 45 classes; from class 1 to class 35 are for products and from class 26 to class 45 are for services.
